The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is recruiting at the Assistant and/or Associate Professor of Surgery level for a BC Cardiothoracic Surgeon with superb skills and interest in cardiothoracic surgery and experience in an academic medical center setting.
Interested candidates must be experts and leaders in cardiothoracic surgery with a proven track record of excellence in effective teaching and significant clinical or basic science research as demonstrated by scholarship that is nationally and/or internationally recognized by peers as having advanced the field of cardiothoracic surgery. In addition, candidates are expected to have a consistent and clear trajectory of appropriately high quality scholarship published as books, book chapters, and articles in peer-reviewed journals. Moreover, candidates are expected to have a robust record of leadership in service at their current academic institution and outside local, national, and international organizations, professional societies, editorial boards, NIH study sections, or equivalents.
The successful candidate will also be involved in the care of patients, teaching residents, collaboration in research and continuing education.
