Advertised Summary Job Description: The Department of Medicine at the Columbia University Medical Center is looking for a Director of Information Technology. The Department of Medicine is the largest department in the School of Medicine, with a large number of clinical and research systems, and a substantial number of users on the Medical Center domain. We are looking for a seasoned technology professional with proven track record, to help manage our current systems, and direct the future growth of the IT infrastructure of the Department to join us in the capacity of Director-Information Technology. The Director-IT will collaborate with a number of affiliated institutions and organizations in the CUMC/New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) environment.
General Minimum Qualifications: Masters' Degree or higher in relevant domains such as Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), IT Management and Project Management, or Informatics. Five years of active management experience in leading a team of technology professionals with at least two years of experience in a health care or medical education setting
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge and Expertise: ? Strong healthcare IT and analytics background ? Strong background in data aggregation, clinical data warehouse design, development of interface standards in healthcare institutions. ? Demonstrated skill and effectiveness in designing systems for data analytics for higher level management decision making. ? Experience in working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment. ? Experience in project management including the ability to define objectives, identify stakeholders, plan and coordinate to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful and timely manner. ?
