The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics are actively seeking a full time faculty member for the position of Medical Director.

Leadership and Engemann Student Health Center. The Vice President for Student Affairs leads the Division of Student Affairs (studentaffairs.usc.edu), which is comprised of 20 departments and more than 300 employees. Engemann Student Health Center (ESHC) operates under the auspices of USC's Division of Student Affairs as well as being an academic division of College Health within the Keck School of Medicine (engemannshc.usc.edu/). Majority funding for daily operations comes via a "student health fee" charged of all fulltime students. Because there is no major other significant medical center within several miles, the ESHC is the primary sources of both primary and urgent care for the majority of USC students.
The Medical Director will provide direction, leadership, and management of clinical staff and operations to assure excellence of care and the promotion of health services to the student population. The Medical Director will be responsible for staffing, administrative management, planning & development, and clinical oversight for primary and urgent care for the Engemann Student Health Center (ESHC) clinics. This position also serves as a member of the Engemann Executive Committee and is charged with strategic development and organizational improvement. S/He will participate in operational oversight to ensure continuous improvement, to establish ESHC as a national leader in student health care, and to further improve clinical excellence and technical/operational innovation.
The Medical Director's scope of responsibility will include the Primary Care and Urgent Care Teams, the ESHC clinics, and the Clinical Laboratory and Radiology Departments. This position is tasked to bring support, supervision, accountability, and standardization to the medical staff. The successful candidate will also work in cooperation with the Executive Director of ESHC, ESHC peers, and Student Affairs leadership in interacting with the University Administration and responding to the needs of a diverse student body.
