| Rowan University is a comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 16,000 students. Rowan University, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, invites applications for non-tenure track, full-time Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor (commensurate with experience) position for the 2016-17 academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching lecture and hands-on laboratory-based undergraduate courses in the Chemistry and Biochemistry curriculum. Applicants with expertise in all fundamental areas of chemistry and biochemistry are invited, with greatest need in biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, or physical chemistry. The position includes service responsibilities such as assessment, alumni outreach, or new laboratory development.
Applicants must have earned a PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related discipline. Strong communications skills, the ability to work with multi-disciplinary student and faculty teams, and ability to teach in a project-based setting are essential. The appointment is initially for a period of one academic year, with the possibility of a one-year extension contingent upon university policies, availability of funding, departmental needs and performance.
