Summary Description: Columbia University Department of Pediatrics invites applications for junior level clinical faculty. Candidates should have strong clinical and teaching qualifications. Responsibilities will include direct patient care, the supervision and teaching of housestaff (residents and fellows), medical students, active participation in departmental activities and academic activities (research).Responsibilities of the Child Abuse Pediatrician will include providing in-patient and emergency room child abuse consultations, outpatient assessments of child abuse cases at the Hospital based Child Advocacy Center and at the Safe Horizon, co-located Manhattan Child Advocacy Center. There will be some duties in outpatient primary pediatrics care. The Child Abuse Pediatrician will teach and supervise medical students, pediatric residents and other trainees in these practices. The successful candidate must possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills, in addition to an interest in child abuse research, child advocacy and development of the child abuse fellowship.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must be board certified or eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics. Must be eligible to practice in NYS.
