Summary Description: Columbia University Medical Center- the Affiliation at Harlem Hospital's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a midwife that will provide antepartum, intra-partum, neonatal, interconceptional and gynecological care in accordance with the standards of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and policies and standing orders of the obstetrical service. Duties include :providing healthcare for expecting women, mothers and newborn infants; assessing the status of patients; develops and implements a plan of care with the patient during ante-partum, intra-partum, postpartum, neonatal and gynecological periods; provides guidance and education for patients and families concerning health maintenance, admission and discharge, labor management, including physical and emotional support. As part of the delivery team may utilize medication and perform procedures for the delivery of the newborn. Provides contraceptive guidance, evaluation and treatment for minor gynecological conditions.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree. Current NYS midwifery license. Certificate in Nurse- Midwifery granted by ACNM, BLS and ACLS.
