Essential Functions: - The successful Post-Doctoral Fellow will have advanced knowledge of molecular biology and genetics techniques focusing on whole transcriptome and genome characterization.- Skill set includes isolation and purification of RNA and DNA, gel electrophoresis, library preparation for next generation sequencing, DNA fragment isolation, PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and PCR.- Importantly they will have the ability to utilize a range of computational techniques for high throughput data statistical analyses.- Ability to work independently with appropriate experimental and quality controls, as well as, to work collaboratively as part of a multifunctional team.- Record data in research notebooks and report results and prepares data for presentation to the research group.- Communicate effectively (verbal, written) with group members as well as with outside vendors.- General lab duties such as preparation of reagents, stocking of supplies as well as performing additional job related duties as required.- Keep current with the literature, prepare manuscripts and help prepare grants.
