Advertised Summary Job Description: The incumbent will work in a busy Renal histopathology laboratory performing the following histology techniques: tissue processing, embedding, paraffin and frozen tissue microtomy, H&E staining, special stains, immunofluorescence, and coverslipping. Will also be responsible for analyzing, trouble shooting and resolving day to day histology functions. Will facilitate trouble shooting and resolution of routine technical issues. Maintenance of laboratory equipment. Perform QA/QC procedures according to department's established policy and procedures. Maintain statistical records and other related laboratory records. Will perform other duties as necessary for the proper functioning of the laboratory.
General Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and at least one year of experience, or Bachelor's degree and at least three years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Must have a New York State Dept of Education technician/technologist license. Must work in a neat and orderly manner. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communications and team player skills are required. Computer knowledge a must.
