Position Status: Regular full-time
This position will support multiple roles for a multi-laboratory Linux server, working with multiple investigators, at The Center for BrainHealth. The position will provide front-line technical support for day-to-day operations, write data processing pipeline scripts, serve as technical resource and subject matter expert for users, and monitor system performance. Must use superior critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills on a regular basis.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or related title; Two years experience in programming work with databases.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements are a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar discipline plus a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience with UNIX/Linus systems (e.g., CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu).
Preferred Qualifications are above education plus five (5) years’ work experience plus expert-level knowledge of UNIX shells, scripting languages, and Python. Extensive experience with: server-level maintenance and troubleshooting, installation, configuration, maintenance of services and software, network hardware, software, and architecture, including firewalls. Experience in scientific computing, statistical training, knowledge of virtualization, RAID units, remote computing, and disaster recovery protocols are preferred. Superior critical thinking, communication, and problem solving skills are desired.
