Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor- MED- Hospital Medicine
ACADEMIC HOSPITALISTS AND NOCTURNISTS - The Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of California, San Diego (http://med.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is recruiting full or part time Academic Nocturnists and Hospitalists to join our diverse and dynamic group of 37 physicians.
Positions with a mix of daytime ward and some night shifts, and dedicated nocturnist positions are both available. Hospitalists will be encouraged to seek an academic appointment and participate in teaching, quality improvement and faculty development.
The proportion of teaching and non-teaching clinical responsibilities will vary, with differential pay for teaching versus non-teaching work, as well as for nights versus days. The scheduling offers significant flexibility, and the workload and number of shifts are competitive.
We are seeking BC/BE physicians trained in Internal Medicine committed to delivering excellent patient care, often integrated with regular medical student and resident educational opportunities, and participation in meaningful quality improvement efforts. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Hospital medicine experience is desirable but not mandatory. Research, informatics, statistics, and performance improvement skills will be considered favorably but are not required; faculty development in most of these areas is available.
Salary / benefits and academic position are commensurate with experience.
