The Authorization Representative will take the lead in securing medical authorizations from third party payers (commercial and government) for outpatient clinic and ancillary services, and inpatient admissions as needed. The Representative will be instrumental in obtaining written documentation, tracking, and reporting outcomes of each authorization request. The Representative will be in a position to interface directly with medical staff and clinical staff to ensure a seamless process to the patients receiving outpatient clinic and or ancillary services and inpatient admissions . This position will report to the Patient Access Manager and will assist in the operation of the Norris Clinical Authorization Center. Requirements Minimum Education: -HS Diploma or GED Required. Minimum Experience/Knowledge: -2 years of experience in a hospital, medical office/doctor's office or working for a health insurer required. -Oncology experience is preferred. -Medical prior authorizations or claims experience in a managed care setting highly preferred -Knowledge of the health insurance industry and claims processing a plus -Excellent time management, organizational skills, research/analytical skills, negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills Required License/Certification: -A Fire and Safety card must be presented upon hire or must be obtained at our facility within the first 30 days of hire and maintained by renewing before expiration date.
