Certified Orthotist / Prosthetist or Certified Orthotist Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
Functional Title: Clinical Orthotist / Prosthetist or Clinical Orthotist
The University of California, San Francisco, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, division of Prosthetics and Orthotics is seeking applicants interested in a dynamic position focused on pediatric orthotic care.
The incumbent will work as full-time clinician in the Orthotic and Prosthetic Center at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital/Gateway Medical Center on the Mission Bay campus, providing patient care for a broad range of orthotic and prosthetic related diagnoses in both inpatient and outpatient care settings. The primary focus of care will be within the Pediatric Surgical Specialties outpatient clinic, but will also include both pediatric and adult inpatient care. Additionally, the incumbent will have the opportunity to create and offer educational presentations to allied healthcare providers.
Required qualifications: Must possess a Master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five years of experience in the relevant specialization ABC Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist or ABC Certified Orthotist Prior experience providing direct pediatric patient care in an orthotic and prosthetic facility; Demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities essential to successful performance of duties in a patient care setting Demonstrated excellent communication and team-building / interpersonal skills.
Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of disease processes and associated orthotic / prosthetic interventions; Familiarity with current treatment modalities, materials and fabrication techniques; Experience with scoliosis and cranial remolding; Ability to work efficiently, and effectively; Spanish speaking.
