The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, within the Department of Pediatrics of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), is seeking an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. The successful candidate will have clinical, research, teaching, administrative and leadership responsibilities within the Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (PHO).
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Duties of this position include:
Research: Conduct lab-based and translational research at OHSU, supported through NIH K08 mentored grant funding during the first few years of the faculty appointment. The expectation is for transition to research independence after several years, at which time the Department of Pediatrics will provide the physician scientist with requisite laboratory resources and space to enable a productive research career. With transition to independence, the expectation will be for the physician scientist to seek further grant funding through NIH mechanisms and other relevant sources.
Clinical: Provide expert and compassionate clinical care to the PHO patient population at Doernbecher Childrens Hospital in the outpatient or inpatient setting, focusing on patients with hematologic disorders. Clinical practice will be in collaboration with faculty and staff of the Division of PHO and the Doernbecher Blood and Cancer Program.
Teaching: Participate in the education of students, trainees, colleagues, and staff in conjunction with clinical and research efforts.
