As a member of the Trauma Team participates in clinical, educational, leadership, consultant and research activities related to complex and critically injured patients. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards of practice. Supports the integration and application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills to provide optimal healthcare outcomes for critically injured and complex patients.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: Graduate of School of Professional Nursing. MSN required.
Experience: Minimum of five years recent trauma critical care nursing experience with responsibilities reflecting direct patient care, teaching and research. Experience in championing healthcare performance improvement and research projects required. Experience in public speaking and teaching required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current nursing licensure and specialty certification such as CEN, CCRN, TCRN or ACTN from the Commonwealth of Virginia required within 6 months of hire. Current BLS required.
Other Minimum Qualifications:. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-directed. Team player. Able to think globally. Must be current in BLS. Completion of either TNCC, TCAR or ACTN required within six months of hire. Prehospital experience helpful. Initiatives in quality and teaching as a champion or leader.
