The Division is currently recruiting for an Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist/Director of Image-Guided Intervention Research.
The Department of Pediatrics and its Division of Cardiology are committed to building an Image-Guided Intervention Center of Excellence with a focus on interventional cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. The center will have the following goals: to advance state-of-the-art, comprehensive cardiac care for children and adults with congenital heart disease in Southern California; to incubate clinical and translational research programs which promote the national and international profile of Rady Children's Hospital and transform care for children worldwide; to establish Rady Children's Hospital as a national referral center for radiation-free procedures and sedation-free cardiac MRIs. The candidate will join a premier pediatric cardiology team including two senior pediatric interventional cardiologists, and two faculty members dedicated to cardiac MRI including one with a PhD in interventional cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging.
Candidates must have an MD, be board certified in Pediatrics, have sub-board certification in Pediatric Cardiology, and possess at least five years of postgraduate pediatric interventional cardiology experience. Candidates must have excellent skills in clinical care and teaching, and some experience in research. Candidates are required to show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity.
Preferred candidates will have demonstrable experience and accomplishments in the area of MRI cardiac catheterization, and also have demonstrable experience and accomplishments in the process of translating pre-clinical concepts and/or devices into clinical investigation, including expertise in intellectual property and possess a record of achievement in preparing and obtaining grants and contracts from federal and other competitive sources, have a national and international reputation as a leader in MRI cardiac catheterization, a publication record that reflects extensive personal innovation, and a record of invited domestic and international scientific presentations. Additionally, preferred candidates will have experience in conception, design, and construction of an interventional cardiovascular magnetic resonance suite, along with dedicated interventional cardiology subspecialty and interventional cardiac MRI training.
Appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the Clinical Series. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
