University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Center for Research on Health Care Data Center is recruiting a full time, non-tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level or higher with a doctorate in biostatistics or a related field. The application should have expertise in clinical trials, observational studies, or meta-analyses. This faculty position will also be a member of the Center for Research on Health Care (CRHC) Data Center and the Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE). Preference will be given to applicants who have at least two years of experience either as a post doc or faculty and strong communication skills. The faculty will be expected to collaborate on research grants as well as teach in our degree programs in the ICRE.
The Division of General Internal Medicine (www.dom.pitt.edu/dgim) is a major research and teaching department in the School of Medicine, with 120 full-time members. In addition to health services research within the Division, there is active collaboration with many faculty in other departments and centers across the Schools of Health Sciences including the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, Graduate School of Public Health, Schools of Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Rehabilitative Sciences. Collaborations also exist with RAND, CMU, VA, and elsewhere. Areas of active research in the Division include cardiovascular risks, obesity, cancer, reproductive and women's health, aging, substance abuse, and mental health. The Division also has strong methodological expertise with the CRHC Data Center.
The Institute for Clinical Research Education (www.icre.pitt.edu) is the home for the University of Pittsburgh's premier clinical and translational research training programs as well as the home or the Research Education and Career Development Core of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. The ICRE offers 6 degree programs and 11 career development programs. We train graduate students, medical students, residents, fellow, and faculty and offer over 50 different courses that span the translational continuum.
