The Clinical Nurse Specialist serves as a resource/consultant for all departments regarding clinical specialty, conducts/ participates in research across varied patient populations. Develops, coordinates, delivers and /or evaluates educational activities for hospital staff, patients and family members. Leads outcome-based approach to patient care by insuring evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary care delivery. Requirements Minimum Education: -Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Registered Nursing. Minimum Experience/Knowledge: -5 years acute care nursing experience required. -Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients. -Demonstrates ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills. -Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision. -Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as Internet and access and utilization. -Ability to participate in and utilize research for improvement of patient-care practices. Required License/Certification: -Valid California Registered Nurse License. -California Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification. -Current Basic Cardiac Life Support training. -Advance Cardiac Life support (preferred). -Specialty Certification (preferred). If no certification upon hire, one must be obtained within 12 months of hire, and maintain renewal. -Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 90 days of hire, and maintain renewal before expiration date.
