The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Divisions of Genomic Medicine and Anatomic Pathology, are seeking an outstanding candidate to direct a translational pathology core laboratory. The full-time faculty member will have clinical service, research (clinical and translational), and teaching responsibilities at the Associate Professor level. The Director, Pathology Core Lab, will join a senior scientific team in the Center for Personalized Medicine.
The successful candidate must hold a MD or MD/PhD degree, be eligible for an unrestricted California Medical License, and be board certified (or board eligible at time of appointment) in Anatomic Pathology and have completed a second subspecialty fellowship. The successful candidate will have clinical and translational research experience; immunohistochemical and/or other laboratory skills are highly desirable. The candidate will be responsible for developing and building a translational pathology core lab including research histology, immunohistochemistry, tissue microarrays, laser capture, and other anatomic pathology translational techniques for both human and animal research. Significant expertise dealing with regulatory issues surrounding laboratory operations is required. The candidate will participate in multi-disciplinary research and clinical teams at CHLA and KSOM.
