Essential Functions: Position is in a laboratory focused on stroke (brain injury following ischemia and reperfusion). Research involves animal (mice and rats) work, cell cultures, molecular cloning, and western blots.We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is experienced in isolating and maintaining primary cell culture. Experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, siRNA, Western blot, co-immunoprecipitation, and fusion protein purification. Addition skills with large animal surgery a plusPerform experiments under the direction and supervision of the principle investigator. Maintain records, files and databases related to studies and experiments.Maintain stocks of reagents and order supplies. Maintain a clean, efficient, and productive laboratory for everyone to work in.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree required for Research Assistant, Ph.D. required for Research Associate in related field (e.g. Biology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology).
