Essential Functions: Inform GEARUP program participants about postsecondary educational opportunities, financial aid, and career opportunities.Develop and implement a yearly work plan of program activities for program participants.Develop and present workshops to program participants.Implement Early Intervention Activities: i.e., campus visitations, in-school college-prep workshops, tutoring, mentoring and academic achievement.Maintain extensive database of student participation information.Assist with creating and maintaining department communications, newsletters, and presentations.Assist with the preparation of the final report to the King-Chavez-Parks Initiative office.Train student assistants.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, higher education administration or related field from and accredited college or university required for University Counselor Assistant II.Master's degree required for University Counselor I and University Counselor II
