Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clin, Clin X, In-Residence, Adjunct) - Neurologist/Neuroscientist (EEG/Epilepsy)
The Department of Neurosciences (http://neurosciences.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and is seeking an outstanding Neurologist/Neuroscientist for the EEG/Epilepsy Division at UCSD/VA at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

The individual will work with a group of adult Epilepsy/EEG neurologists involved in clinical care, clinical research and trials, and education with our growing division. The Epilepsy/EEG Division has a clinical base at the UCSD hospitals at Hillcrest, La Jolla, and VA. The group's current activities include outpatient epilepsy, inpatient monitoring and a 4 bed EMU, epilepsy surgery, EEG, EPs, and ICU monitoring. There is opportunity to develop programs, trials, pathways and translational research. The division sponsors an ACGME accredited clinical neurophysiology fellowship and an active rotation and conference schedule for the Neurology Residents. There is need to develop an ACGME fellowship in Epilepsy.
The Department of Neurosciences within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego provides excellent opportunities for teaching and other patient care/academic interests with time dedicated to teaching and scholarly activity at one of the nation's top-ranked Medical Schools and one of the most academically productive Departments of Neurosciences in the country.
Candidate must have an MD and be board certified/board eligible in Neurology, EEG/Clinical Neurophysiology, and Epilepsy. Candidate must possess or be eligible for California Medical License. The successful candidate will be a neurologist-neuroscientist with a specialty in Epilepsy and who has outstanding clinical abilities and an emerging or established academic interest. Selection will be made depending on the area of interest, aspiration, career trajectory, and capacity for teambuilding. Successful candidates will also demonstrate excellent communication skills. Candidates are required to show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity by submitting a Diversity Statement of past contributions and/or future plans of excellence in this area as part of their application for an academic appointment.
Depending on the candidate's qualification and experience, the appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level and the appropriate series.
