The Department of Reproductive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD )is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and is seeking a board certified Gynecologic Oncologist at the level of Associate Professor or Professor to lead the Gynecologic Oncology Division. The Division is well-established and highly regarded locally and nationally. It is comprised of three experienced board certified gynecologic oncologists who provide comprehensive medical and surgical care at the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as at affiliated sites. Division members are active in clinical trials research including industry sponsored, investigator initiated and NRG cooperative group studies. Each of our two research faculty, in the division, leads their own laboratory engaged in basic science and translational research focused on ovarian cancer cell adhesion, signaling, and death. The division includes a successful, and highly sought after, four year fellowship program.
Candidates should have a commitment to excellence in clinical care, patient safety, patient satisfaction, education and research.
Candidates must have a MD or MD/PhD, be board certified in Gynecologic Oncology, eligible for appointment at the Associate Professor/Professor level and must have or obtain an active license to practice medicine in California. Candidates must have at least three years of leadership experience either in a division or a major program area, as well as a minimum of 6 years of academic medical center experience. Tenured faculty are expected to have a record of extramural research funding and demonstrate a high likelihood of continuing to secure extramural funds. Candidates are required to show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity by submitting a Diversity Statement of past contributions and/or future plans of excellence in this area as part of their application for an academic appointment.
Appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor rank. Series will include 100% Ladder Rank or 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
