A post-doctoral position is available immediately to conduct research on lipid metabolism, its association with mitochondrial autoghagy and homeostatis, and its effects on cardiac and skeletal muscle function.
Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology or related field by start date. Minimum of 4 years of experience (including Ph.D. training) in laboratory research in cell biology and/or molecular biology. Must be highly self-motivated, be a critical thinker and be able to conduct independent and creative research.
Knowledge in lipid metabolism, mitochondrial function and skeletal muscle function; Good publication record; and prior experience with animals.
Essential Functions and percent of time::
85% Conduct research in the laboratory, analyzing the data and devising innovative scientific and technical solutions
15% Writing manuscripts and research grants and establishing new projects
Standard molecular biology laboratory conditions.
Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply. Length of contract is one year, renewable, contingent upon funding.
