The Basic Science Departments at RowanSOM emphasize molecular biology and cellular function and are housed in a modern, fully equipped research building. The Department of Cell Biology at RowanSOM is committed to training research scientists in cutting-edge biomedical approaches, as well as supporting the education of medical students in basic science courses.
The Department of Cell Biology at RowanSOM seeks applicants for a full-time, junior-level faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The qualified candidate will provide support to a senior-level researcher and manage an active research laboratory. S/he will have excellent laboratory analytical skills and will perform other related scientific duties in the scope of the position, as required. The candidate will participate in graduate and medical student training. S/he will join a highly interactive and diverse group of researchers in an environment of high quality basic and translational research and educational programs. Present faculty research areas encompass cell signaling, circadian rhythms, cardiovascular pathophysiology, vascular and leukocyte biology, micro RNAs, neurodegenerative diseases, ribosome biogenesis, stem cell biology and transcription mechanisms. The ideal candidate will have a PhD from an accredited institution. S/he must provide evidence of scholarly activity, have effective written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational and planning skills, and demonstrate competency in current approaches in her/his area of specialization.
The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2016.
