JPF01051 Associate/Full Professor (Ladder Rank, In Residence)- Cardiovascular Medicine
Tenured faculty, Cardiovascular Medicine- The Department of Medicine (http//med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is actively recruiting an investigator for a tenured faculty position at the associate or full professor level, who has an innovative research program . A scientist with experience in the study of the molecular basis of rhythm disturbances using a combination of whole animal and human induced pluripotent stem cell biology is preferred as this will fit with the current program of excellence in molecular cardiovascular biology. Candidates must have a PhD., must have a demonstrated record of prolific peer-reviewed publications, and be a known leader in their field. The successful candidate is expected to have a productive and independent research program with multiple grant sources concurrent, including those from national agencies. Applicants functioning across multiple disciplines such as medicine, physiology, and engineering, and that have translational approaches are encouraged to apply.
The Department is interested in candidates who have demonstrated commitment to excellence by providing leadership in teaching, research and service towards building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. Salary/rank is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank and 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding.
