SUMMARY: Reporting to the Executive Director of Rowan Medicine, provide coordination and best practices to the operations of Rowan Medicine clinical departments and ambulatory sites. Incumbent will implement new and/or revised operational initiatives related to Revenue Cycle, Decision Support, Managed Care, and Provider Credentialing. This position will be responsible for implementing and monitoring operating policies, procedures and systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans, direct, and monitor the overall clinical and business operations of Rowan Medicine. Identify and oversee key processes in place as needed to support consistent and effective clinical operations. Where possible, consolidates related processes to accommodate multiple functions. Consults with faculty and staff to develop, establish and implement operational plans, policies and procedures in accordance with best practices, professional ethics, state laws, and University policies.
Participate in a leadership role in the implementation, monitoring and review of administrative procedures. Investigate, recommend and implement methods of controlling costs, and maximizing revenue.
Develop and analyze data to interpret trends, assess medical services use and cost effectiveness of care; establish productivity measurements; analyze and interpret resulting data and works with senior management on development of market strategy and pricing policy.
Develops and deploys best practice models and uses effective monitoring systems to assure clinical practice standards of performance are being met, operating objectives are achieved, and regulations, policies, and procedures are being adhered to.
Communicate effectively with medical, professional, administrative, and other personnel, to effectively present information both orally and in written form.
Develop practice guidelines and monitor compliance with regulatory mandates such as OSHA and ADA, etc.
Provid verbal and written reports on a regular basis to senior executive staff, Faculty Practice Plan (FPP) Committee, and other committee(s) regarding overall activities.
Lead the review of clinical practice department operations. Ensure departments are in compliance with internal policies and reporting requirements.
Actively participates in a leadership role and attends meetings and conferences regarding FPP activities. Represent the Faculty Practice Plan on School and University committees and project teams as assigned.
Handle special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master?s Degree in Business Administration or a related field plus a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in in medical group practice, hospital, or academic health system with revenue cycle activities. Analytical and statistical ability to evaluate data, make judgments and recommendations regarding quality improvement work. Candidate must have effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated organizational skills, sound judgment and decision making skills and independent work initiative. Candidate must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with the ability to manage multiple projects independently. Ability to work according to established deadlines. Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment required. Demonstrated knowledge is necessary of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment. Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
