Faculty Position Opening in Addiction Research at University of Southern California
The University of Southern California's Department of Preventive Medicine invites applications for a research-track faculty position at the rank of instructor or assistant or associate professor. We seek a faculty member with an active program of research focused on substance addiction join the USC Health, Emotion and Addiction Laboratory (USC-HEAL; heal.usc.edu), a multidisciplinary team of faculty, trainees, and staff that studies the intersection of addiction, mental health, and health behavior. We are interested in outstanding applicants from all areas of human addiction research, although, we especially encourage applications from those whose research can complement existing strengths in tobacco use, comorbidity of psychiatric and substance use disorders, addiction-related health disparities, and addiction psychopharmacology. Expectations include obtaining external funding, mentoring postdoctoral, doctoral, masters, and undergraduate level research trainees, and teaching undergraduate or graduate courses. The candidate will be recruited to join the Division of Health Behavior Research within the Department of Preventive Medicine. This multi-disciplinary department of behavioral scientists, epidemiologists, environmental health scientists, and biostatisticians has a long history of conducting innovative externally-funded research in the public health sciences and is the home of an NCI-funded Tobacco Center for Regulator Science.
