The Division of Cardiology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC/University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting for the Director of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) program. The applicant should have expertise in the management of adult congenital heart disease with prominent clinical, teaching and research skills. In addition, he or she should have sufficient experience to serve as director of the ACHD program, working closely with division chief and hospital leadership to lead program development. Candidates must possess and MD (or equivalent) degree and be board-eligible/certified in cardiovascular disease and in adult congenital heart disease. The Heart Institute provides comprehensive pediatric and adult congenital cardiovascular services to the tristate region and consists of 22 pediatric cardiologists, 4 pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons, 5 pediatric cardiac intensivists and 8 cardiology fellows along with 12 physician extenders and a staff of over 100. The Heart institute is currently ranked 10th in the US News and World report ranking for pediatric cardiac programs. In addition to a second ACHD physician, the well-established adult congenital heart disease program is staffed by 2 dedicated mid-level providers, a dedicated ACHD RN, ACHD research coordinator and supported by a clinical social worker. The ACHD team works in conjunction with the Heart-Vascular Institute of UPMC Presbyterian hospital as well.
