Job Description Summary:
Provide instruction for the Certified Nurse Aide program. Includes instruction in HIPPA laws, medical ethics, basic medical terminology and patient triage.
Essential Duties :
Provides lecture and hands-on instruction in area of expertise.
Follows published schedule of classes.
Covers all course competencies in instruction.
Grades, administers and facilitates quizzes, exams, hands-on practicums or other tools used to evaluate student progress.
Maintains knowledge of, and exhibits current methodology in, area of instruction.
Manage classroom activities by enforcing standards, rules and regulations.
Promotes a culture of customer service through words and actions.
Recruits students and maintains active student enrollment through quality classroom instruction and student communication.
Assists students in search for job opportunities and prepares students for job interviews.
Provides feedback to campus directors on course progress, suggested improvements, or problems that may impact program quality or stability.
Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Applicant MUST be an LVN or RN.
Applicant MUST have at least one year work experience in a long-term care facility.
Applicant MUST be eligible for approval by Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for teaching CNA.
Proficient in the medical and technical knowledge and skills required for a Certified Nurse Aide.
Demonstrated proficiency in English; Written and verbal skills.
Must be high school graduate or have G.E.D.
Prefer at least three years in a hands-on role in the healthcare industry.
Prefer at least one year experience teaching/training adults either in education or an on-the-job setting.
