This position is under the supervision of the Chair of the Department of Neurology. The duties of this position are in support of the mission goals and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine.
Clinical Responsibilities (90%): Focus on a combination of inpatient and outpatient neurologic care at OHSU, coordinating with all hospital departments, including the ED and diagnostic professional services. Perform 1-2 weeks per month on the OHSU Hospital (10K) Neurology ward and consult service and the stroke service; up to 4 weeks of night/weekend call coverage per year depending on need. Participate in outpatient practice at CHH up to five half day sessions per week.
As part of the clinical enterprise, help develop and track meaningful quality measures with a focus on patient experience, Neurology-based quality and safety metrics, standardization and cost containment.
Research responsibilities: Encouraged to participate in clinical research studies depending upon interests and needs.
Academic responsibilities: Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents and fellows in the clinics and other settings as deemed appropriate by the Neurology Department and the chair.
Participate in Departmental activities consistent with this position and with the understanding that this position requires a focus and dedication of time to Neurology Inpatient and outpatient clinical practice. Other activities may include, but are not limited to, teaching and supervising residents and medical students and membership on Departmental and SOM committees.
