Job Summary: The Cryogenic Control System Engineer will design, develop, document, deploy and support the FRIB EPICS/PLC based cryogenic control system, as well as required instrumentation and motor controls, supporting commissioning and operation. Major Position Responsibilities: lead engineer responsible to meet the goals set by higher management; develop the architecture of controls application; lead the design, documentation, programming, and installation of EPICS/PLC based cryogenic control systems; interface with operation and commissioning team to provide prompt support; collaborate with EPICS/PLC community to keep FRIB control system up to date; manage the preventive maintenance, repair and parts management for assigned equipment, keeping records of maintenance tasks and results; determine ways to optimize logic or systems without making overly complex; foresee any potential problem areas and notifies line manager; continually strive to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and uniformity.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, Physics, or a related field with at least five years of experience in designing and implementing PLC Controls; excellent communication and documentation skills; extensive experience in large-scale controls systems development and techniques; good understanding of distributed control system software and hardware
