Curtin Maritime is seeking a Director, Human Resources, Health & Safety, who will be responsible for directing all of the people functions of Curtin Maritime. Key to this responsibility will be building the policies and practices for the Human Resources, Health and Safety department to implement. Ultimately this position is a critical role in taking Curtin Maritime from a small, family run business, to the next level of success and growth; all while maintaining the existing Curtin Maritime culture. This position will report directly to the CEO and serve on the executive management team.
Develop, implement and manage the human resources, health & safety policies, procedures and functions
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment federal & state legislation while ensuring company compliance
Oversee and assist executive management in the performance and coaching of their employees
Ensure effective implementation of the compensation and benefit program
Manage the budget and associated financial measures of the Human Resources, Health & Safety Department
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must meet “fit for duty” requirements upon job offer (pre-employment physical and drug test)
The employee must meet physical requirements including but not limited to, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing up/down ladders and stairs, negotiating uneven and moving surfaces
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Must comply with PPE requirements related to tasks.
Hold a valid Driver’s License
Hold a TWIC card (or ability to obtain one)
Hold a USCG Merchant Mariners Credential (or ability to obtain one)
Ability to pass a government background check and US Coast Guard physical and drug test
