The Operations Manager impacts the clinic management, planning, development, budget, and other administrative activities of assigned department. Demonstrates leadership qualities and critical thinking through self-direction, initiative, effective interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills. Responsible for the efficient and effective practice operations for specialty and/or primary care practices in compliance with sound business practices. Manages activities related to: financial management, revenue cycle performance, personnel management, operations, clinical service, clinical practice analysis and other activities. Provides excellent customer service while maximizing clinical revenue through efficient, effective and compliant procedures.

Assists Administrator with on-boarding of physicians in terms of sequencing and executing tasks/actions involving HMH support areas (e.g. Managed Care office, SPG/PCG, CBO, Medical Staff office, Telecom/IT, etc.). 4. SERVICE ¿ 20 % 1. Has primary responsibility for the department¿s operations in terms of appropriate staffing levels, productivity, schedules, and assignments. Optimizes clinical operations and patient flow to ensure quality of care provided to patients. Conduct regular analysis to ensure that schedules are being utilized to the fullest potential resulting in increased patient access.(EF) 2. Participate in leadership meetings and committees of the Physician Organization or Hospital. Leads efforts to create an environment of personalized service and engages our patients, staff, and physicians. (EF) 3. Utilize practice metrics to optimize practice performance. This includes, but is not limited to; staffing benchmarks, panel size, next third available, fill rate, no show rate, double booking strategies, wRVU by specialty. Explain to providers if necessary. QUALITY/SAFETY - 20 % 1. Establishes and enforces benchmarks consistent with MGMA industry standards and monitors effectiveness. Ensures appropriate staffing levels and skill sets relative to benchmarks and performance goals. (EF) 2. Monitors key operational indicators including financial and quality metrics such as in basket utilization, clinical close rate, etc. Assesses current performance, and develops action plans to achieve optimal performance. (EF) 3. Implements training, monitoring and operations that assures high levels of compliance with ethical and legal business practices. Ensures practice compliance with all state and federal regulatory agencies, including the accrediting agencies. (EF)
FINANCE - 20 % 1. Assists in the development of department budget and ensures that the practice operates in a cost-effective manner within budget. (EF) 2. Conducts analysis on all clinic operational related areas such as utilization, revenue enhancement opportunities, and cost-reduction opportunities. (EF) 3. Responsible for coordinating the front-end billing operations of the practice. Interfaces with the Centralized Billing Office (CBO) to ensure that appropriate procedures are adhered to and that accurate information is being collected and submitted.
GROWTH/INNOVATION - 20 % 1. Actively works with departmental staff and Physicians to ensure EPIC optimization in addition to developing strategies to ensure patient satisfaction consistently meets or exceeds organizational goals. (EF) 2. Seeks out service line growth opportunities, develops business plan and implements upon approval. (EF)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS o Bachelor Degree o Master Degree preferred
Miniumum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare professional/administrative capacity with 2 years of the experience in a supervisory role required. Any Houston Methodist Project Manager experience is valued at one year of supervisory experience.
