Under minimal general direction, the Director of the Public Records Office (PRO) is responsible for independently leading UCI's management of requests pertaining to public access to records and privacy rights. This includes being responsible for planning, executing, evaluating and managing the overall public records program for the campus and medical center. Incumbent must work cooperatively with multiple entities and constituencies, both internal and external to the University of California.
The incumbent uses advanced analytical and professional skills to manage projects of large scope that have great and broad impact to the campus in its compliance with federal and state law as well as University policies and procedures pertaining to public access to records. Analysis, problem-solving, and development of recommendations are not well-defined, requiring creativity and innovative solutions. The incumbent must possess sound judgment and decision-making skills.
