Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEReporting to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources (AVP, HR) the Director, HR Data & Technology is a strategic role designed to manage best in class HR data, reporting and technology services. This position is responsible for providing leadership to the department of Decision Support & Technology and overseeing and supporting strategic HR technology initiatives at the University. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide leadership and guidance to department staff; oversee recruitment and hiring efforts; administer performance management including coaching and counseling; mentor staff, providing training and development opportunities.Collaborate with subject matter experts across HR service areas to promote data governance and stewardship, data quality and advancement of HR technology capabilities. Promote data consistency, accuracy, and completeness with articulated data standards. Manage the Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) data management and personnel recordkeeping process. Perform data quality reviews utilizing quality assurance methods to identify problems and errors. Recommend and implement solutions to eliminate errors.Support Human Resource Leadership Team (HRLT team) and clients to identify data and reporting challenges and opportunities; translate into data insights. Provide real-time reporting and analytics to enable informed and accelerated decisions. Serve as the liaison to Computer & Information Technology (C&IT). Lead and/or support the implementation of technology systems, upgrades and modifications; identify impact and enhancement opportunities. Partner with HR functional areas and HR Project Manager to ensure appropriate testing, documentation and seamless transition. Partner with HR Project Manager to create training materials and conduct training sessions. Collaborate with C&IT and others to ensure HR technology is implemented according to user specifications, ensuring regulatory requirements. Provide clients ongoing support for assigned applications including trouble shooting and problem resolution.Oversee HR system security including creating and updating user roles. Ensure appropriate security levels are applied and de-provisioned. Conduct periodic HR divisional security access audits. Provide system administration support for in-house applications. Oversee system administration for 3rd party vendors (e.g., Equifax Work Number, PeopleAdmin, Halogen, A-Check Global, ProveIT).
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degreeBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems or related fields. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptedExperience: Expert (established subject matter expert, 7+ years experience)7 years' experience managing/leading HRMS, HR Business Analytics or HR Operations activities. Previous management experience. Preferred: ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) experience. Experience working in higher education. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesCOMMUNICATIONS - Excellent oral and written communications. Skilled at working with customers at all levels to define problems, identify solutions and facilitate change.INTERPERSONAL SKILLS - Effective interpersonal and customer service skills. Must possess ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers at all levels, including senior executives. Must demonstrate and possess a high level of professional integrity, ethics and confidentiality. PROBLEM-SOLVING - Ability to identify and resolve problems, develop alternative approaches and meets challenges with resourcefulness. TECHNOLOGY - Experience with integration of ERP and other HR systems into a technology roadmap that delivers on HR and business strategies. Proficient in the use of Human Resources Business Information Systems (i.e. HRIS, etc.) and Microsoft Office tools. PLANNING/ORGANIZING - Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, manage project team activities, develop strategies to achieve organizational goals, develop realistic action plans.
