The goal of Shared Services is to identify duplication of efforts and streamline processes in an effort to improve efficiency on the Knoxville Campus. By providing management and financial consulting services, administrative support, automation of manual processes, travel planning, contract management and asset management centrally; efficiency is increased through consistency and standardization of staff duties.
This position within the Office of Shared Services coordinates procurement for various departments under the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration. The position coordinates technology requests, purchases, orders, and vendor contract, as well as providing travel services. In addition, the position will also be responsible for tracking and maintaining the status of all requests, purchases, orders and vendor contracts within the VC F&A purview. Along with handling procurement, this position is also responsible for assisting VC F&A Directors and other Knoxville Campus personnel regarding shared services, travel, compliance tracking, timekeeping and contract administration.
Must have strong technical writing skills and have experience with writing legal and/or business documents.
Must be able to take charge and make sound business decisions in a dynamic work environment
Self-starter, able to prioritize work schedule while supporting the organization's needs
Detail oriented, with excellent speaking and written communication skills
Excellent skills in current MS Office, specifically, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access
Problem solver with good interpersonal skills to interface with suppliers, customers and other personnel
Interpret and make decisions in accordance with laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, and policies governing the purchase and contracting of commodities and services for the University.
Produce written technical documents in the English language with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.
Explain complicated technical problems in simple, non-technical terms.
Work cooperatively with other agency and vendor employees, management, department heads and university officials
