The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling in the College of Education at Auburn University is seeking to fill an opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling with clinical practice, teaching and supervision experience in Counselor Education. In addition to contributing to our Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling program candidates will be expected to contribute to our programs in Counselor Education (Doctoral), Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and School Counseling. These contributions require that candidates have experience in clinical practice courses (counseling/skills, practicum, and internship). Candidates should also be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively work with, supervise, and mentor counseling students. Area of research focus is open, but consideration will be given to candidates whose research focus integrates counseling, social justice, advocacy, multicultural counseling, and evidence-based practices. The candidate will be required to hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited institution (by the start date) and a Master’s degree from a CACREP accredited program in Clinical Rehabilitation or Rehabilitation Counseling.
(1) Doctoral degree in Counselor Education from a CACREP accreditation program by August 16, 2018; (2) Master’s degree from a CACREP or CORE accredited program (desired -Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling or Rehabilitation Counseling); (3)two years of clinical and supervision experience; (4) evidence of counseling, supervision, teaching, and research experience; (5) evidence of ability to engage in professional service, leadership, and advocacy;(6) licensed or licensure eligible; (7) certification eligible (CRC, NCC); (8) demonstrated experience in college/university teaching, research and service, and (9) Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and students. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements in the U.S. at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue to work legally for the proposed term of employment.
The anticipated starting date is August 16, 2018. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
