The Director of Placement and Outreach for the Silberman College of Business reports to the Executive Director of Alumni, Placement, and External Relations. Broadly considered, responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and procedures for internship programs and other experiential learning activities, cultivating the relationships with employers necessary to ensure that the appropriate businesses are participating in the internship programs, overseeing staff who will work with students on resumes and interview skills, working with students on their resume writing and interviewing skills, assisting the Dean and Development Office in outreach efforts, and collaborating with the Office of Career Development on FDU campuses. There is a dotted line reporting relationship between the incumbent and the University Director of Career Development.
1.Master's degree preferred.
2.Evidence of managerial and career services or related field experience in a university setting preferred.
3.Current knowledge of state-of-the-art programs and approaches in the areas of career development, placement, and the relationship of academic preparation to the world of work.
4.A record of collaborating and networking with deans, department chairs, senior corporate executives, recruiters, students, alumni, faculty, and staff to accomplish common goals.
5.Excellent human relations and oral and written communication skills.
6.Computer proficiency required. Knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) preferred.
7.Evidence supporting an ability to successfully bring employers (recruiters) to campus is desired.
8.Valid driver's license and accessibility to transportation for travel between campuses, and to visit employers and alumni.
9.Valid passport for occasional travel to international campus in Vancouver (Canada).
10.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing a background check and produce a Social Security Card.
