Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, this position is a key member of Accounting Services. The position is responsible for supporting current financial responsibilities, with a focus on on developing and recommending process improvements, policies and procedures.
Assist the Manager of Financial Services with capital funding.
Track and maintain records of Construction in Progress.
Capital grant reporting.
Ensure compliance software is updated for tax exempt bond compliance.
Evaluate and perform analysis of certain University activities to determine any unrelated business income (UBI) impact and assure appropriate treatment on the University's and subsidiaries 990-T.
Other tax related duties as assigned.
Contribute in the annual audit and financial statement preparation process.
Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the Accounting Services Department.
Test and Implement Banner processes for improved efficiencies.
Serve as the accounting liaison for the Bursar Office.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Accounting Services management.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in Accounting or related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Experience in higher education or not for profit industry.
Tax and Banner experience is a plus.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner.
Ability to work independently.
GAAP and GASB knowledge.
Proficiency with Windows, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Cognos reporting system.
