The UCSF School of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full level to provide clinical service, teach, and engage in scholarship for our Fresno, California-based experiential education program. The faculty member’s area of expertise should be ambulatory/primary care pharmacy practice with an emphasis on care for underserved populations, particularly those with chronic conditions such as diabetes and related co-morbidities.
The successful applicant will provide clinical service and engage in scholarship related but not limited to: pharmacist-led access to care, adherence interventions, evidence-based care, and factors related to the outcomes of treatment. Teaching (including precepting) responsibilities will include courses in the School of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum [i.e., introductory pharmacy practice experiences (IPPEs), integrated theme block courses (i.e., pharmacology, therapeutics related large and small group active learning sessions), the applied patient skills lab course, advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs) and student-conducted research). Teaching responsibilities will also include interprofessional education activities with other health profession students and residents in the Fresno area.
PharmD degree from an accredited college/school of pharmacy.
PGY2 pharmacy residency in ambulatory care or equivalent skills and experience.
Licensure as a pharmacist in the State of California or licensure pending.
Current or past professional practice experience as a pharmacist in ambulatory or primary care.
Experience in teaching/precepting health professional students and/or residents.
Board certification in ambulatory care (i.e., Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, BCACP) or a specialty area (e.g., Certified Diabetes Educator, CDE) is desirable. Competitive applicants will have demonstrated evidence of scholarship (e.g., poster presentations, invited lectures, publications, funded research projects). Native, bilingual or full professional proficiency in Spanish is strongly desired.
