Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSE Design, integrate, and implement applications that require the use of multiple technologies, tools, and disciplines. Assist customers in defining report parameters/reporting needs and acquire, create, or develop applications using the optimal technology, platform or interfaces. The focus of work is on the implementation of effective integrated solutions that optimize the use of technology and meet the customer's needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide server administration and maintenance for File Servers (Windows based), Web Server (IIS), Database Server (MySQL).Manage and maintain the division's Active Directory. Work with C&IT for migration and joint administration.Work as division's main contact for user authentication and authorizations to the network, Advance fund-raising application and other applications as needed.Work with customers to define information requirements for the implementation of potential applications: research available tools and technologies to determine best solutions; conduct cost/benefit or feasibility analyses and provide recommendations on alternative approaches; develop or acquire, test, and implement new or enhanced integrated applications. Train end-users on the integrated applications to ensure optimal use of the applications and provide ongoing support including trouble-shooting and problem resolution.Troubleshoot hardware (desktops, laptops, mobile devices and other peripherals), software and network as required. Generate ad hoc and general certified reports using ODS, MS Access and COGNOS as required. Document the various software applications for reference by technical staff and end-users. Adhere to confidentiality and data usage policy for the division.This position requires a high level of commitment and enthusiasm. The incumbent must be willing to work extended hours as needed. Special projects and related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degreeAdditional Education Information: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in computer science, information systems or related field.Reasonable knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures.Experience: ExperiencedAdditional Experience Information: Minimum of 4 years experience working with relational data and database management systems. Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL. Knowledge of Windows Servers, Active Directory, MySQL and other web tools.Experience writing reports in COGNOS Report/Query Studio. Experience with Ellucian Advance and other enterprise administrative systems preferred. Professional understanding of, and interest in, Development best practices and general operations.Positive and collaborative professional philosophy, recognizing that this position is integral to the achievement of the goals and objectives of Development and Alumni Affairs. Experience in a higher education or non-profit environment preferred.Demonstrated experience communicating with professionals from varying industries.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREDCOMMUNICATIONS SKILLS: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally both orally and in writing. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Access, Word and Excel.
