PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Collections Data Assistant assists with the maintenance and access of electronic resources and participates in projects across the department.
Assist with updating electronic resource and online journal holdings in various knowledge bases.
Compile and maintain monthly and annual statistical information.
Assist with registration of access to online journals.
Verify, test, and monitor access to electronic resources and online journals.
Assist with editing LibGuides content.
Assist with promoting public awareness and use of electronic resources.
Provide technical and administrative assistance for a variety of technical services activities and special projects.
This job includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.
Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities.

Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular unit or function for which the person is responsible. Consideration will be given on a case by case basis and reassignment of marginal duties will be made when appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Education and experience: Requires high school diploma and three or more years of experience. High school diploma and ninety or more college credit hours may substitute for experience.
This position requires the following knowledge and skills:
Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Word.
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Ability to maintain and keep accurate records.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize duties and meet deadlines.
Ability to complete work assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to work cooperatively with staff and librarians in various departments.
Experience in an academic library.
Experience with electronic resources, serials, and/or acquisitions.
Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Word.
Working knowledge of integrated library systems, preferably Innovative Interfaces Sierra, and discovery systems.
Experience with LibGuides.
SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL:
May supervise student assistants.
