The Department of Technical Education at the King Fahd Security College (KFSC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia , invites applications for at least two full - time geographic information systems (GIS) faculty members at the Assistant or Associate Professor Rank. The department is contributing towards the general studies/liberal arts component of a Bachelor of Science in Security Studies degree. Faculty hired for this position will design and deliver a three credit hour course on Introduction to GIS. Faculty will also be assigned to develop the GIS laboratory and associated training courses at KFSC. This position will require relocation to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia no later than 1 September 2 018.
These faculty members will teach three courses per semester, serve on committees to develop the curriculum, and participate in other assignments to advance academic programs in the College. Scholarship is encouraged and interested faculty can apply t o access research funds to pursue a research program that is in line with the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior.
The University of New Haven is advising KFSC in the development of this degree program, and assisting KFSC in recruiting faculty. Th ese positions are not faculty appointments at the University of New Haven.
A competitive base salary and benefits package is avai lable for qualified candidates. Appropriate graduate/advanced degrees and college teaching expe rience required. The standard co ntract is 1 year, renewable indefinitely.

Doctoral degree in Geography, GIS , or other appropriate field. (ABD will be accepted, but only at the rank of Lecturer until doctoral degree is conferred).
Masters degree in GIS is also accepted, but faculty will only be appointed at the Lecturer rank.
Prior teaching experience in higher education.
Experience teaching students where English is not their first language.
Successful ap plicants will be able to demonstrate their personal interest (or prior experience) in working in Saudi Arabia or other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
