Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pharmacist.
In this role, the successful candidate Performs drug utilization reviews, education of patients, professional staff, research and consultation. Reviews and prepares medication for dispensing to patients. Advises practitioners regarding drug selection and therapy, reviews medication storage throughout the medical center and participates in educational activities to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
Responsible for overseeing and assisting Pharmacy Technicians assigned to preparation and labeling of sterile products and unit dose labeling and packaging of pharmaceuticals
Responsible for filling, checking, compounding medications and sterile product preparation
Functions as a resource person for Drug Utilization Review
Provides drug information and consultation
Documents and maintains pharmaceutical records
Trains and monitoring of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Students
Nursing Station Reviews
Security of Pharmacy
Professional development participates in projects/activities to maintain professional competence (seminars, journals, 15 hours of continuing education credit per year required by NYS)
Complete annual competency assessments
Document clinical interventions
Answer telephone with courtesy
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy NYS Pharmacy License and Registration Good Communication and interpersonal.
Required Licenses: Pharmacist License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy degree. ASHP Oncology accreditation. Two years or more experience as an oncology pharmacist in a hospital setting.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
