General Statement of Duties Support corporate objectives by utilizing specialized knowledge of writing and design to create a wide-range of printed and electronic materials. Plan, draft content, determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy. Create final layouts and deliverables. Edit communications and materials. Assist with event sponsorship coordination and staffing. Primary Responsibilities: Work with Marketing & Communications team and other departments to determine and create the most appropriate type of materials, collateral, and communication requested. Provide guidance and recommendations as appropriate.Respect confidentiality and maintain confidences as described in the Confidentiality Security Agreement that is signed by all employees. The ability to maintain confidentiality is a critical and essential component of this position.Plan, draft, and create layout, design, and copy for advertisements, brochures, e-blasts, flyers, forms, handbooks, mailers, newsletters, sales promotions, digital assets, and other collateral using graphic design and desktop publishing software. Coordinate the production of materials from design to final product, including planning, deadline expectations, content creation, review coordination, prioritization, and reporting. Ensure that the format and writing style of all materials and communications produced are consistent with company standards and reflect the Rocky Mountain Health Plans brand. Provide copy edits and content creation for a variety of communications including, but not limited to, letters, emails, collateral, social media postings, internal communications, and ad hoc requests.Assist with event sponsorship detail coordination, including the delivery of sponsorship-related assets, and staffing when necessary.Monitor trends in advertising and design. May provide guidance and recommendations to Marketing & Communications team in order to improve department outputs, streamline production, and cost-saving strategies while maintaining brand consistency and company standards.Follow developments in graphic design and desktop publishing hardware and software. Work with IT to implement new hardware/software as appropriate. Maintain high-level knowledge of and skill with all computer software related to the design and production of print materials and document preparation. Identify ways to streamline production and recommend cost-saving strategies. Required Qualifications:Associate's degree (or higher) in commercial art or graphic design, advertising, marketing, communications OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years in graphic design or marketing communication professional experienceStrong creative, design, and writing skills required (please include cover letter)Requires advanced knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), layout principles, and aesthetic design concepts.Requires ability to respond effectively to short notice demands and to manage multiple priorities with strict deadlinesRequires detail orientation and initiative to ensure all work products are consistent with brandRequires professional demeanor and proven experience in demonstrating various skillsets while displaying drive and passion for each initiative. 3+ years of experience in a field utilizing marketing communication or design in professional experiencePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Acrobat X ProSoft Skills:Ability to respond effectively to short notice demands and to manage multiple priorities with strict deadlinesRequires detail orientation and initiative to ensure all work products are consistent with brandProfessional demeanor and proven experience in demonstrating various skillsets while displaying drive and passion for each initiativePhysical & Mental Requirements: The physical and mental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
