Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) The Manager, Payer Relations will identify and implement managed care / payer business development strategies across BriovaRx including national and local payer contracting for existing and new markets. In addition, this position will provide consultative support to internal partners including sales and account management within Optum / Optum Rx / UnitedHealth care, as well as facilitate issue resolution and project management for internal and external stakeholders. Primary Responsibilities: Reporting and analyticsProvider data pulls and analyses (for assessments, comparisons, etc.)Web-based research (competitor network assessments, potential recruiting lists, etc.)Database creation and maintenanceCompetitor overlap analysisCompiling reports and delivering presentations to the department and managementCreate or assist in drafting materials for client and leadership communications regarding our recruitment / network progress. Identify / evaluate strategic business opportunities that represent value for UnitedHealth GroupUtilize data to drive identification and pursuit of opportunities Manage the relationship and contracting activities for designated payer clients Review and negotiate payer contract terms and pricing Collaborate with Sales and Operations to manage payer contracting pipeline to address existing market gaps and de novo markets Support the inter - company relationship with large clients of Optum (such as Unitedhealth care, Cigna, and others) Identify and address problems / issues that exist or emerge within customer / client relationships, contracts, or processes Maintain and report accurate statistical records of individual productivityWork across business partners to establish and cultivate strategic business relationships with key managed care payers, influencers, and customers Provide subject matter expertise support to the Briova sales teams that interface with health plans for standalone business opportunities and the OptumRx PBM clients Support network access adequacy needs through ensuring existing agreements and client relationships are maintained Influence others to resolve business problems that affect multiple functions or disciplines Coordinate with the Network Provider Relations team at OptumRx to identify and leverage growth strategies for Briova and AxelaCare Identify and address process improvement opportunities related to key business processes, contract management and administration, and growth strategies Participate in and travel to industry tradeshows or events to engage customers as appropriate**Opportunity to Telecommute in the Twin Cities Area of Minnesota
Required Qualifications: 3 or more years of experience working in the health care industry 2 or more years of experience handling complex payer or provider relationships with accountability for business results 2 or more years of experience working in a matrix environment 2 or more years of data analysis experience within a healthcare environmentExperience reporting, trending, tracking, manipulating and presenting data 10% travel Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher Experience giving presentations, including written and verbal presentations Soft Skills:Superior interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to establish rapport and work well with others across multiple functional areas and customer groups A strong track record of consultative sales and support, preferably with managed care/payer clients Must possess strong analytical acumen with working knowledge of pricing concepts; home infusion or specialty pharmacy experience a plus Strong customer service skills Thinking, planning, and superior organization skills to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand Strong business skills (budgeting, forecasting, trend analysis) Careers with OptumRx.
