This role will work within the home delivery and specialty pharmacy product management team to help design, optimize, and measure the performance of products and growth focused initiatives. Primary Responsibilities:Analyze data from multiple systems, identify patterns on member behaviors, assess our position against home delivery, specialty and retail pharmacy competitorsCollaborate with colleagues across OptumRx to understand the nature of our programs and develop data analysis planExtract data from a variety of sources including medical and drug claims data, client reporting, membership eligibility, demographics, and operational processesCleanse, summarize, aggregate, and synthesize data based on data needs for the projectIdentify appropriate data sources, report metrics and tools for providing needed information Analyze data and provide summary information in a format that is easily understood by non-technical audience Formulate hypothesis, support with data analysis and propose tests to improve performance Estimate the financial impact of recommended strategies and programsCreate and update presentation documents and materials to summarize results Present, explain, and interpret reports to stakeholders at various levels of the organizationPromote best practice standards to applicable stakeholdersRespond to questions and provide timely response to customersGenerally, work is self-directed and not prescribed. Required Qualifications: BA/BS in MIS, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Business, Finance, Actuary Science or a related field3 or more years of experience performing significant data analysis and report development, OR 2 or more years of direct pharmacy analysis experience2 or more years of experience analyzing complex data1 or more years of experience in extracting data from a large data storeIntermediate level of programming knowledge (reporting code) and of relational databases, database structures and design, systems design, data management, data warehouse Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, and intermediate or stronger proficiency in Access and in PowerPointPreferred Qualifications:Experience in health plans and Pharmacy Benefits Managers Experience analyzing medical and pharmacy claims and health plan eligibility recordsKnowledge of drugs in general and the pharmacy value chain Competencies in SAS, SQL, and/or HyperionAdvanced skills in MS AccessExperience working with RxClaim or OptumRx database Advanced ability to synthesize data, develop, and present a conclusion / executive summary Careers with Optum.
