Founded in 1875, The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (The NYSPCC) is the first child protection agency in the world. The mission of The NYSPCC is to respond to the complex needs of abused and neglected children, and those involved in their care, by providing best practice counseling, legal, and educational services. Through research, communications and training initiatives, we work to expand these programs to prevent abuse and help more children heal.
The NYSPCC is currently accepting applications for a Full–Time Assistant Director of Clinical Services.
The Assistant Director of Clinical Services is responsible, in consultation with the Director of Clinical Services, for the oversight of the following programs: Trauma Recovery, Therapeutic Supervised Visitation Program, and Crisis Debriefing. This position ensures high quality services through use of evidence-based practices, standardized assessment instruments, best practice program evaluation, staff performance evaluation and the comprehensive training of staff. The Assistant Director will also be responsible to support the development, delivery and promotion of The NYSPCC Training curricula and materials.
Responsibilities include: Cultivating and collaborating with referral sources; screening and assigning referrals; providing clinical supervision; maintaining and reporting program data, including program outcomes and staff productivity; maintaining policy and procedure manuals, ensuring compliance with funding, policy and procedure requirements; and supporting efforts to secure funding for all programs. The Assistant Director will carry a small caseload of TR and SVP clients, will facilitate crisis debriefing sessions and will be responsible for developing and facilitating select trainings and workshops on topics relevant to The NYSPCC mission. The Assistant Director will also provide supervisory coverage to all Clinical Services program staff in the absence of the Director of Clinical Services.
Requirements: Must be a New York State LCSW or a licensed Psychologist. A minimum of five years of experience working with high-conflict families with histories of trauma using evidence-based practices; a minimum of five years of experience in a management role providing program oversight and staff supervision; an understanding of the complexities of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, the custody and visitation process, the child welfare process, mental health and substance abuse issues and secondary traumatic stress; and sound clinical judgment are also required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, computer literacy, training skills, and experience with public speaking are essential. Monday through Friday schedule, with two evenings required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Competitive Salary: Low $80K’s commensurate with experience.
