The Director of Resident Life is responsible for all activities relating to the well-being of resident students. The Director of Resident Life imparts the school's mission and motto, through the care and management of resident students.
The Director of Resident Life is a member of the Administrative Team. The Director of Resident Life works closely with the Associate Head of Spiritual life, Dean of Students, Dean of Academics, and International Program Director. The Director of Resident Life heads the Residential program. Resident Faculty report to the Director of Resident Life.
Be available for student support and emergency assistance.
Oversee and evaluate, for improvement opportunities, a comprehensive Residential Life Program
Keep their supervisor fully informed on resident student issues, including absences, health, and discipline issues, and all other relevant matters pertaining to school and health and well-being of the student.
Oversee the Prefect program for Resident Life and work in conjunction with the HS Principal in the selection of Reslife Prefects
Enhance residential student life on the campus
Address residential student needs and parental concerns appropriately.
Annually update the Student Handbook and the Residential Life Faculty section of the Faculty Handbook.
Oversee and manage the operations of the Health Center concerning student health issues and the personal counseling of students in conjunction with the Health Center and parents.
Support the school and its leadership.
Manage the resident life activities budget and provide a monthly statement to the CFO and their supervisor.
Be accessible to resident students, faculty members, school nurse, and parents in the event of an emergency.
Supervise, evaluate, and discuss the performance of resident faculty on an ongoing annual basis.
Communicate with parents regarding significant resident student non-academic progress or problems.
Lead weekly resident faculty meetings.
Create and distribute the weekly boarding duty schedule.
Serve as a faculty advisor on the Discipline Committee in situations involving resident students.
Manage coverage for boarding faculty absences and other staffing changes.
Oversee residential events such as weekly chapel, chapel singing, community dinners, resident activities and other events.

Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts preferred
Teaching experience preferred
Experience living in a boarding school or similar setting
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Demonstrated energy and enthusiasm

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Ability to set up an information table at an admission or other school event
Ability to interact with people via telephone and other communication technologies
Ability to drive students and adults to a variety of school events or appointments
Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, standing, bending over, and sitting for extended periods of time
