The Young Lab is looking for a Research Technician to join their team. The Research Technician will assist investigators in research activities and carries out assigned laboratory duties according to standard and specified procedures. Perform other duties appropriate to education, background, and training as directed by the laboratory PI and co-investigators and/or postdoctoral research fellows.
Perform laboratory procedures as directed, according to established protocols, with timely and detailed compilation of experimental procedures and results. These are reviewed frequently with investigators in the laboratory.
Problem-solve within limits of knowledge and training, with guidance and direction from laboratory investigators.
Operate equipment in which training has been received as part of normal laboratory investigation, or by prior education/training. This may include standard laboratory equipment or specialized laboratory equipment, e.g., cytofluorograph, which is routinely used for regular experimental investigations.
Schedule own assignments in consultation with investigators for experiments performed, from day to day.
Maintain and orders regular supplies and reagents for day-to-day laboratory operation, and keeps accurate records of same.
Interact regularly with investigators in the laboratory as well as other services in the institution in matters related to daily laboratory operations and experiments.
Perform other duties appropriate to education, background, and training as directed by the laboratory PI.
BA or BS in biological or natural sciences with 0-3 years' experience.
